Today my old friends wedding

Few days ago my old friend called me, without knowing her phone number, surprised she told me she is going to get married and had invited me to join her wedding party at Klang. We didn't meet for more than a year or 2, now a good time for gathering too!

Later we will be there around 1pm to witness this marriage, ah ha, I don't know her husband yet, waiting to see how he looks like...

Public China Ittikal Fund

Yesterday my friend introduced a newly released fund by the Public Mutual, the Public China Ittikal Fund to me. The fund is to invest in the China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan market, and initially 1.5 billion of units have been approved which investors can invest.

It has a projected 155% growth for the next 5 years, which is a pretty figure that will almost triple the principal investment.

Been thinking of investing in this fund..

It's long since last post

Well, it has been quite some time from the day I last posted to my blog, cause recently I'm really quite busy rushing the project. Hope I can get it done on time, if not there will be a need of OT...

We decided to leave but after turning back, we see the other sky is light and clear, and parked our car and ready to swim, after I changed the rain started to fall and there were big lightning....

What the sky is happening... everytime we go to swim the sky will turn dark.. never mind, we go and swim next time!

Caterpillar Dancing

Oh my god what is this guy dancing?

Poor Streamyx

Few days ago my Streamyx line cannot connect, the DSL light keep blinking. It was fine the day before, but it was not after that. I called to the Streamyx technical to explain my problem and have told them the DSL light on my modem kept blinking, and this means that either the modem has problem or the line.

The technician ask me to execute a ping command and ping to several ip address, something like 192.168.1.4 / 3 / 1. It returned some results, and the technician, from this result, told me that my NIC / Ethernet card is damaged!! There is nothing to do with my NIC, it's the modem / line is the problem! What kind of help is this from the Streamyx technician, poor and not 'technical'.

I kept on explain this is the modem / line problem, and they also insisted that my NIC is broken and I need to replace a new one. Without arguing further, they have tried to restart the Streamyx port for me. I switched off my modem for 10 minutes, turn it on back, and everything is OK!! NIC damaged?? Definitely not!! The technical help from the Streamyx is really poor, what kind of ridiculous answer they gave - my NIC is broken!! Oh my god... Next time when the technician tell you that your 'stuff' (stuff here can be anything - NIC, modem, etc) is damaged, don't panic, they might be wrong after all!!

Funny Jay Ad

While surfing the Internet I found a funny advertisement piece with Jay in it, very funny look haha.

The Movie Bullet and Brain [神枪手与智多星]

Yesterday I went to Jusco Cheras Selatan to watch a Hong Kong movie - Bullet and Brain [神枪手与智多星] with my friends at night. The movie started at 950pm. The story begin with a betrayer, trying to get his ex-boss money in the Swiss Bank Account. The boss has pass the Bank Account's password to his granddaughter, and later murdered by the betrayer.

The boss also taught his granddaughter how to get help from a 'gun god' (bullet) and a 'brain god' (brain). The movie is very nice to watch, and there were surprise at the end of the movie, quite a brilliant move to add excitement to the movie.

A Rubik's Cube

Many of you may not know what a Rubik's Cube is a cube consists 6 faces, which each of the 6 faces are differentiated by their colors, and each face has 9 smaller cube. Below shows the picture of a Rubik's Cube.

I bought it from my Melaka trip last week and I found twisting it to the correct faces is very difficult, but with a little help from the Internet, things become easy. I managed to get it back to 6 faces all with correct colors in just 30 minutes hehe, and it's not that hard that I've thought, it's hard if without the formulas.

The Porsche 911 Turbo

The Porsche 911 Turbo - my dream car! It has a powerful 3.6 litre engine delivering 480 horse powers, from 0 - 100 Km/h only takes 3.9 seconds, and has a maximum speed of 310Km/h!

I think this is many people dream car, how much it costs? It costs more than RM1 million!! Want it? Then be rich!

The Movie The Last Legion

Today I went to Jusco Cheras Selatan to watch a movie 'The Last Legion', it's Wednesday and the movie ticket is cheap RM6 today.. The movie, as its name suggests, the little emperor of the Rome, Caesar was left with a last legion, a strong and faithful legion, that's what makes the miracle happens.

The movie is quite nice, and very similar to some of the pc games like Diablo, an ancient time of war, but this movie still lacks some interesting parts, if this is compared to The Lord of the Ring, it still has many rooms to improve, the fighting can be greater, the castle can be bigger, and needs lot more computer effects that will make you feel you are inside.

How To Change the Ownership of Blogger Blog?

You might be wondering how do you change the ownership of your Blogger blog? That's when something happen and you've change your Gmail address (could be you don't like your old Gmail address, you've lost your old Gmail address, or for any other reason), and wish to use your new Gmail address to continue your old Blogger account (so that your existing blog, post, comments, pictures, videos, etc can be maintained). Another reason you might need to switch ownership is due to your Blogger picture upload limit (1024MB) is exceeded, and you need a new account to continue upload image (though Google might extend the storage space in the future).

I find here & there searching the web and found it's very easy to change the ownership of your Blogger blog, it will be done within just few steps. First go to your blog Settings -> Permissions, under the Blog Authors, click the 'Add Author', and then key in your new Gmail address and click 'Invite'. You will receive an email from Blogger in a short moment, open the email and click the invitation link, you're required to create (sign in) a Blogger account with your new Gmail address, using your existing new Gmail password. After signing in, your old blog is accessible to you, but it's not done yet.

Sign in to your Blogger account using your old Gmail address, go to Settings -> Permissions, you will see 2 authors, one being the old Gmail address, another is the new Gmail address, for the new Gmail address, click the 'grant administrator' to give full access of your blog to your new Gmail address, now you have 2 Gmail addresses that can both access and change anything in your blog, or we can say there is 2 owners to your blog. Your next step is optional, that is to remove your old Gmail address from the Blogger account, which is described below:

Sign in to your Blogger account using your new Gmail address, go to Settings -> Persmissions, and click the 'remove' button to remove your old Gmail address, this way, you have changed the ownership of your Blogger blog from your old Gmail to your new Gmail, without interfering your blog settings or posts. If you have multiple blog with your old Gmail address, just repeat the steps above until all the blogs have been switched your new Gmail address, and you're done!

Today the connection to Google, Gmail, Blogger is damn poor slow!! The Gmail just showing page not loading, try the basic HTML Gmail, or keep refreshing, and it took almost half an hour to come to the inbox.

My Internet provider slow? Don't think so, while I load Yahoo & MSN it's alright, fast & smooth, Google is having problem today, the same for Blogger too, took me many minutes before I can actually come to this page and write this.

A bad day for Google site, hope it gets well soon, the doctor on the way?

It's Kimi Raikkonen Formula 1 World Champion!

Yesterday race was fantastic! It started with Kimi overtook Lewis, followed by Alonso also overtook Lewis, that effectively dropped Lewis into 4th position, that's just within a few corner of the race start!

It's not over yet for the trauma for Lewis, he drove outside the race track and dropped his position further to 8th! However, Lewis managed to get back his position after overtaking 2 cars back to 6th, that's enough to put him to the title champion, but luck is running out of Lewis Hamilton car, his car experienced transmission problem after few laps of the race and he dropped back to 18th!! However his car recovered after that and he kept chasing down the pack of cars in front of him.. Though this trauma, he only managed to get 7th, with his 3 pit stops, and with Kimi finished 1st and Alonso 3rd, the leaderboard is:

Kimi Raikkonen: 110
Lewis Hamilton: 109
Fernando Alonson: 109

That will mean 2007 Formula 1 World Champion belongs to Kimi Raikkonen, that's the benefit of working teamwork with his teammate Felipe Massa (finished in 2nd), while Lewis and Alonso, is fighting each other to get the champion, both of them only manage to get 2nd and 3rd in the world championship, respectively.

The 2007 Formula One is officially over with the final round at Brazil, and we look for the new Formula One season in the coming 2008!!

Vista get bad vote from TGDaily.com

I just read an article from TGDaily.com, it's regarding the many flaws of Windows Vista, here is the excerpt:

Vista is the most un-user friendly operating system
Opinion
By Rick C. Hodgin
Thursday, October 18, 2007 08:20

Opinion - I'll make this short and sweet because I know this subject has flame war earmarks. Recently, I bought a Vista powered notebook. Leaving aside the fact that I have to constantly click through "Vista needs your permission to continue" prompts whenever I try to do most anything, even when I go to look at the properties of my own network connections (not change them), there are significant design flaws with Vista, at least from a user's point of view.

The Beginning

The first significant design flaw is how verbose it is. Every prompt comes with an explanation that's at least a full sentence long. Whatever happened to the simplicity of prompts? Something with a "help" button or link which would then take you off to the world of the verbose? Or what about the ability to wield network connections as easily as we could in XP?

With Vista, in order to connect to a wireless network I have to click on a link from a mini popup window. That popup link is a very short line of several words embedded between other links above and below. It requires a precise mouse movement and click to get it just right. I consider myself to be a good mouse user, but there's no reason for such complex maneuvering when engaging in a routine operation.

From there, I'm taken to another window which appears in the middle of the screen. After moving there from the corner of the screen, I have to click on the network connection I want. And, as anyone with more than two network connections knows, in order to reach that third one you have to scroll the entire listbox down because each entry is about 1" high, and there is a dividing bar between wired and wireless connections. After selecting the network connection I want, I have to then move down and click the connect button which is in the lower-right of the window. It connects, sometimes taking up to five seconds, which means I'm waiting for a variable amount of time so I can complete the transaction which comes after. Never mind the fact that those few seconds could be used actually opening the next app I might want to use once the most-likely-to-connect wireless connection inevitably connects. Perhaps I could only get a follow-up promp if it failed?

So, after waiting for an indeterminate amount of time (at least several seconds), after it's connected I actually have to click the "Close" button! All told it's about 20" of mouse movement, a right-click and four left-clicks just to connect to a wireless network. And, there's a period of time in the middle which is a variable based on network traffic, router availability, etc. Why?

System Hanging
But that's not why I'm writing this article. It's something far more restrictive. After several weeks of use I've discovered a new system hangup at boot time which is the real cause for this article. My computer literally freezes for two solid minutes during startup. The desktop appears, the start bar, and then if I try to launch most any program, it hangs. I can't open anything which uses the network, or even checks to see if the network is available, until that two solid minutes goes by. Any stand-alone apps which do not use the network run just fine. I've tested that personally by some software I've written. It runs. But anything that touches the network in any way, hangs completely until the two minutes passes. This includes email, Internet Explorer, other web browsers, Windows Media Player, other media players, and of course any network change or view settings. The system is completely unusable during that time, and it happens every time I turn on my computer.

Microsoft might not know this, but when people turn on their computers it's not so they can have them on. It's so they can use them. And such an extreme design flaw in the Vista model, one which also affected my desktop system several months back (and it did not even have wireless connectivity), is enough to take a usable device and turn it into a brick. Why would I want to use something which is so verbose, requires my permission to do everything, halts all other programs until it's ready to proceed, and sometimes takes up to two minutes to shut down?

I know there is some device driver timing out, possibly several times, possibly multiple drivers. But I can't find it. And it's still ridiculous! Why should any network connection attempt have to wait so long before timing out? And why should it have to takeover all system features, thereby stopping most everything from launching until it's ready? Any why isn't it easy to find out what's causing the problem? I've disabled every add-on service. The only ones currently active are the ones recommended online. Nothing changed. It's not anything I've installed since then, but I still can't figure it out. It's a Vista mystery.

What were they thinking?
What was Microsoft thinking when they released Vista? It's awful. Sure, it is by far the prettiest GUI they've ever released, but it's completely unusable, especially when compared to Windows XP. The long prompts, the constant pass-through permission screens, the incessant warning about everything. "Yes, Vista, I don't have an anti-virus program installed. Do you really need to warn me every single day about that fact?"

I can say truthfully that I don't care that much for the fancy GUI. In fact, when I had to run Vista a while back on my desktop machine, I turned the Aeroglass stuff off, and went back to the traditional XP-looking system, mostly because of the huge amount of system resources Aeroglass consumed. Still, I was constantly reminded that I was running Vista because of the incessant stream of "Vista needs your permission to continue" prompts appearing before my eyes whenever I'd try to do most anything I typically do in a day on my computer.

"Vista needs permission o run the program you were just asked whether or not you wanted to Open or Save after manually clicking on the website's download link. Please waste some more of your time while passing through this prompt. And don't worry, if any essential drivers are installed, especially those Vista doesn't have catalogued in the 'official Vistal Driver Database', then you'll know soon enough about those as well. Thank you for wasting dozens of seconds of your time passing through these prompts. We hope your attitude hasn't been affected by the waiting. And if it has... what are you really going to do about it? Switch to Linux? HA!"

Conclusion
Well, today is the day I am switching to Ubuntu on everything I own. For those applications I *HAVE* to run Windows on I will be using one of my old Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP discs. I am leaving Redmond, WA for any Vista efforts or future ones. And as soon as I can find replacement software for the rest of my Windows-only programs (specifically Microsoft Visual Studio), I'm gone. Never looking back. Never to return.

Vista, you've made a believer out of me ... at least regarding the value of open source efforts.

Formula 1 - Final Round at Brazil: Grande Prêmio do Brasil

It's the final round of Formula 1 in Brazil!! Yesterday qualifying session yield Felipe Massa on pole position, that's a reward for running in his home country! But what is catching people attention is that Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Raikkonen!! Three of them get the position of 2,3, and 4, with Lewis 2nd, Kimi 3rd, and Alonso 4th! What's that mean? It would mean Lewis has the biggest chance to be the Formula 1 World Champion! But wait, there are Kimi and Alonso chasing down Lewis, the fight between the 'three kings' is gonna to be tight.

This final round, would be the most valuable, must-watch race for the entire F1 season, there's even no match like this for many years back in the F1 history - get ready for the race tonight @ 12am Malaysia time.

Lewis Hamilton? Fernando Alonso? Or Kimi Raikkonen?

Formula 1 race in Shanghai, China is a big disappointment for Lewis Hamilton, where he drove off the track while he was on his way to the pit stop, on the slow pit lane!! This was due to his car tyres were worn and the grip on the road became very bad and virtually all the cars can pass him through!! And for this incident, he had paid a high price of not getting any point in this race last Sunday. The rainy day and slippery race track finally took Lewis down.

As of this, Kimi Raikkonen finished the race in first, followed by Fernando Alonso, and third is Felipe Massa. Now the point standing is:

1. Lewis Hamilton 107 points
2. Fernando Alonso 103 points
3. Kimi Raikkonen 100 points

Three of them are very close and the Formula 1 world champion can be either of them, and the last race in Brazil in the coming 21st Oct, 07 will be moment for the new champion to born. However, Lewis has the biggest opportunity to become the world champion, by looking at his 4 points lead over the 2nd man Alonso.

It will be a great battle for these racers in the coming race in Brazil, it won't be long before we can witness how these 3 potential champions perform!!

Formula 1 to race in Shanghai, China

Today qualifying session's pole position belongs to Lewis Hamilton, a step much closer to his first Formula 1 Champion!! While Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa from the Ferrari only managed to get 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Lewis's teammate, Fernando Alonso, only can start at 4th position.

Tomorrow race will be a very crucial moment for Lewis Hamilton, since if he win tomorrow, then he will be the Formula 1 World Champion earlier, which I think what Lewis is dreaming for, and is working for!!

Tomorrow race again will be a very breath-taking race I believe, with plenty of actions waiting to be seen, not gonna to miss it, it's at 2pm Malaysia time, and the race time at Shanghai, China, is also 2pm, let's Formula 1!!

Gems of the World Show at Genting Highlands

Today I just received a newsletter from Genting Highlands mentioning this Gems of the World show, where many of the unique, and the world's largest collection of gem stones will be available for display at the Genting Hotel Grand Ballroom, starting from 29 September 2007 onwards.

It says that in this gem stones exhibition, all of them are in the natural states in its uncut condition, and an eye-catcher, multi million dollar, massive three tonne crystal orb that glows in the dark.

Entry fee is only RM18 for adult and RM10 for Children, and they are having room rates promotion where per night stay from as low as only 1 Genting Point.

Public Growth Fund or Public South-East Asia Select Fund?

Yesterday one of my friend told me that he is now an agent of Public Mutual to promote its fund. He recommended Public South-East Asia Select Fund, which is just launched 10/2/07, and not very sure its performance yet. Previously I've noticed the Public Growth Fund, which is currently doing very well, I don't know which to invest...

Another is the China Select Fund, which is just introduced few months ago, a return of 20%+ within just past few months, quite attractive too.

Gotta do more research on these funds and pick the most suitable for me..

The Formula 1 in Fuji, Japan

The race today was fantastic!! And the whole race session had been accompanied by medium to heavy rain fall, visibility is very low at some moment, and the roads were getting very slippery. The race started with the safety car leading all the 22 cars, for about 20 laps!! Rain was so heavy that the visibility is very low, and the first 20 laps just started with the safety car, it's about half an hour of race with the safety car in front!!

In this safety car racing period, both Ferrari drivers went in the pit twice, making them dropped their position from 3rd and 4th to last few positions, though their car were full in gas. After the safety was in, Lewis started to pull away from his rival Fernando Alonso. In laps 30+, Alonso went in the pit and rejoined the race around 7-8 place, behind many cars in front yet to make their pit stop, and it's here that the Alonso had crashed very terribly, and he is out of the race!!

Lewis Hamilton finished the race with ease, with added advantage over his team mate Fernando Alonso by another 10 points, as he finished in 1st position!! Another victory for him!! The last lap of the race was full of actions between the Robert Kubica and Fellipe Massa, Massa was attempting in any way to overtake Kubica, while Kubica was trying very hard to prevent this, the drama is like playing computer racing game where both the drivers overtook each other many times, and driving off track on the last corner of the lap, and Fellipe took the place and finished in 6th, quite an interesting F1 race day in Japan!!

Race started with safety car

Heikki Kovalainen (FIN) Renault R27 with Lewis Hamilton (GBR) McLaren Mercedes MP4/22 and Kimi Raikkonen (FIN) Ferrari F2007 celebrate on the podium Formula One World Championship, Rd15, Japanese Grand Prix, Race Day, Fuji Speedway, Fuji, Japan, Sunday, 30 September 2007

The Formula 1 in Fuji, Japan roars 12:30pm

The qualifying of Formula 1 racing in Fuji, Japan yields a pole position for Lewis Hamilton, followed by his team mate Fernando Alonso, 3rd Kimi Raikkonen, 4th Fellipe Massa, it's McLaren McLaren, Ferrari Ferrari!!

Alonso might having a little bit problem here as Lewis is in the pole position, and Lewis is currently 2 points in lead over Alonso, if Lewis win this race, then their difference will be separated farther by at least 2 points, which is not a good news for Alonso. Nevertheless, many eyes are on the rookie driver Lewis Hamilton to be the Formula One World Champion, the first career in F1, and the first champion in F1 too!!

The coming must be a very interesting and actions-packed, where tight competition between these 2 McLaren drivers are mostly unavoidable and the race must be a must-see race!! Let's soar F1 in Fuji, Japan!!
